Discovery woods and blue beacon looking south

The Blue Beacon truck wash was located to the east of Robin Hood Hills. The northern part of the woods was referred to by locals as the "Blue Beacon woods" and was known for being an area inhabited by drug users and transients. The Blue Beacon woods were north of the pipe-bridge that ran across the 10-Mile Bayou.

The Blue Beacon was open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Behind the truck was was an access point to the woods. A trail leading into the woods converged into two paths; one going toward the pipe-bridge and the other to the drainage ditch where the three boys were found on May 6th, 1993.
